The participants of the league are beach tennis players who play on the same courts every day for fun and socializing. Some have been playing this beautiful sport for a long time and play at a high level, and some only for a few months. But the league is made so that all teams are equal.

When we play

We play beach tennis every day, but the league is played only on Sundays in 2 groups of 6 teams, and each team plays 3 matches.
Each team will play 11 matches, the league lasts 8 weeks, and after that, the 4 best placed teams play the semifinals and finals.

Las Canteras League - Rules

  •  **Las Canteras League - Rules**
  •  **Competition Structure**
  • - The league consists of **12 teams**, with 6 teams playing each Sunday, while the other 6 teams rest and play the following week.
  • - **Each team plays 3 matches per round**, so every team plays against every other team once during the season.
  • - The league lasts for a total of **8 rounds**, after which the top 4 teams qualify for the **semifinals and final**.
  •  **Round Schedule**
  • - **Round 1:** 6 teams play, while the other 6 rest.
  • - **Round 2:** The remaining 6 teams play, and the 6 teams from the first round rest.
  • - This schedule repeats every other week, and the competition lasts a total of **8 rounds**.
  •  **Semifinals and Final**
  • - After the last round, the **top 4 teams** based on rankings qualify for the final tournament.
  • - In the semifinals:
  •   1. The **first team** plays against the **fourth team**.
  •   2. The **second team** plays against the **third team**
  • - The winners of the semifinals compete in the final for the title, while the losers play for third place.
  • - The final and the third-place match are held **one week after the last round**.
  •  **Entry Fee and Prizes**
  • - The entry fee is **€20 per player**.
  • - The total prize pool is distributed among the **top three teams** at the end of the final, as follows:
  •   - **50%** for the first-place team.
  •   - **30%** for the second-place team.
  •   - **20%** for the third-place team.
  •  **Rules for Teams**
  • - The teams will be determined by a draw where the **8-12 highest-ranked players** will randomly pick their partners from a hat.
  • - Each team can reschedule one match date before the league starts, but only once during the entire season.
  • - If a player cannot continue the competition (due to injury or another reason), they may be replaced by another player only with the agreement of all participants, and the replacement cannot be of a higher rank than the original player..
  •  **Number of Teams**
  • - The league may be expanded to a maximum of **12 teams**, depending on the number of registrations.
  •  **League Start Date**
  • - The league starts on Sunday **October 13th**, and each following week represents a new round.

Beach tennis is played as singles or doubles
Regulation net height is 5 ft. 6 3/4 inch. (1.7 meters)
Width of an official Beach Tennis court is 26 1/4 ft. (8 meters)
Length of an official Beach Tennis court is 52 1/2 ft. (16 meters)
Beach Tennis Paddle must be minimum of 18 1/2 inches in length and no longer than 20 inches
Rules
The rules of beach tennis are similar to those of regular tennis:
Scoring is 15-30-40 with no advantage; at 40-40 (deuce) next point wins
Doubles, men serve underhand
Lets are in play
one serve is allowed per point
The ball can NOT hit the sand. If it does, the opposing team receives a point
If the ball strikes the line in any way the shot is good
No part of a player's body or his/her equipment may touch the net or cross the plane of the net (over or under). If it does, that player's team will lose the point being played
The player serving must stay behind the base line while serving. If any part of a player's body touches the base line in his/her service motion before hitting the ball, it is considered a foot fault and the serving team will lose the point
Only one hit is allowed to get the ball over the net; in doubles, you may not pass the ball to your partner
